September 23, 2013, in conjunction with the Changchun City Department of Education, Star International Educational Exchange Academy of Changchun held the fifth “bring foreign teacher education to the countryside” activity in …district…school, and conducted the bring foreign education to the countryside activity for one day at this school. In order to undertake this activity, Star International Educational Exchange Academy of Changchun chose Majorie Jacob, a highly experienced, education loving, culture and education specialist from Canada to conduct five new and original classes with splendid content using pure native English.
The instructor made use of games, competitions, songs and vigorous student interaction to ensure that the students actively participated in every speaking activity. At the same time, she very considerately prepared small gifts for the students to excite the students’ interest in studying English and open their horizons. After the class was completed, one student after another took a group photo with the teacher to commemorate the event, and expressed that, after that day, they would increase their efforts study English and strive to be able to fluently converse with foreign teachers. The school hopes that this kind of activity can continue, the more often the better!
According to our understanding, from 2009 to the present, the Education Department has held five “bring the foreign teacher to the countryside” activities in series and, likewise, Star International Educational Exchange Academy of Changchun has conducted this activity five times as well. Changchun City government has designated this activity as an action plan for the people’s welfare which will be henceforth carried out for the foreseeable future.
